玉山金山 (Tamayama Kanayama)

玉山金山(たまやまきんざん)は岩手県陸前高田市にあった鉱山。金の他、水晶も採掘された。 日本で初めて金が発見されたと伝えられる金山の一つで、天平年間(729~749)僧行基によって発見されたとも言われ、天平の時代にはすでに砂金のかたちで金を産出していたとされる。奈良東大寺の大仏や中尊寺金色堂にも使われたという。 1673年頃から次第に産金量が減少。 黄金のベコ(牛)とともに坑夫千人が落盤の下敷きとなって死んだという「オソトキ」(飯炊きの女)の伝説が残る。 史跡として管理されている。 千人坑、和右ェ門坑、尺八堀坑のほか、珪石露天掘跡などが残る。

Yushan Jinshan

Yushan Kaneyama (Tama Bay) was a mine in Rikuzentakata city, Iwate prefecture. Besides gold, quartz was also mined. It is said that one of the Jinshan that was reported that gold was discovered for the first time in Japan, it was said that it was discovered by the Buddhist monk of Tenpyo (729 - 749), and it was said that in the times of Tenpyo it had already produced gold in the form of gold dust . In addition to the thousand mines, Wakayama gate, Shakuhachi Horikubi, sili stone digging drill remains.
