橋野高炉跡 (Hashino Daka Ro Ato)

橋野高炉跡(はしのこうろあと)は岩手県釜石市橋野町に所在する高炉跡。 1858(安政5)年、盛岡藩士大島高任が仮高炉を建設し操業。1859(安政6)年 4月より南部藩直営となる。1860(安政7)年、1番高炉と2番高炉の2座を建設、仮高炉を改修し3番高炉とした。 1869(明治2)年 、政府により鋳銭禁止令が発布されるも橋野高炉では大規模な密造を継続。1871(明治4)年に密造が発覚し銭座は廃座、以後1番高炉及び2番高炉を操業停止。 1894(明治27)年 、釜石鉱山田中製鉄所に吸収される。栗橋分工場の操業開始とともに3番高炉も廃止。 1957(昭和32)年に国の史跡に指定され、2015(平成27)年には「明治日本の産業革命遺産 製鉄・鉄鋼、造船、石炭産業」の構成資産として世界遺産に登録された。 橋野高炉へ鉄鉱石を供給していた橋野鉄鉱山が高炉から南へ2.6kmの大峰山麓北西谷間に残るが、私有地となり立ち入りできない。その間に断片的に運搬路跡が見られるという。

Hashino blast furnace site

Hashino blast furnace remains (blast furnace chopsticks) is a blast furnace trace located in Hashino cho, Kamaishi city, Iwate prefecture. 1858 (Ansei 5) year, Morioka clan squirrel Oshima Takami built a temporary blast furnace and operated. From 1859 (Ansei 6) he will be directly managed by the southern clan. In 1860 (Ansei 7), two bases of the first blast furnace and the second blast furnace were constructed, the temporary blast furnace was refurbished and it was made the third blast furnace. In 1869 (Meiji 2) year, the government issued a ban on casting ban but continued large scale tightening at Hashino blast furnace. In 1871 (Meiji 4) year, the smuggling was discovered and the monetary authorities were abolished, then the first blast furnace and the second blast furnace were shut down. In 1894 (Meiji 27), it was absorbed by the Kamaishi Mining Tanaka Works. As the operation of the Kurihashi branch plant started, the third blast furnace was also abolished. It was designated as a national historic site in 1957 (Showa 32) year, and was registered as a World Heritage Site in 2015 (Heisei 27) as a constituent asset of "Meiji Japan's Industrial Revolution Heritage Iron and Steel, Steel, Shipbuilding, Coal Industry". Hashino Iron mine that supplied iron ore to Hashino blast furnace remains in the northwestern valley of 2.6 km south of the blast furnace, but it can not be entered as private property. Meanwhile it is said that a trace of the transportation path can be seen fragmentally.
