越知町立明治中学校 (Ochi Chōritsu Meiji Chūgakkō)

越知町立明治中学校は高知県高岡郡越知町にあった中学校。現在の越知町の中でも北東部にあたり、1954(昭和29)年に越知町に編入されるまでは旧吾川郡明治村であった地域に位置する。 1947(昭和22)年、旧吾川郡明治村の北部に位置する「片岡小学校」に併設する形で開校。 1949(昭和24)年、「榎佐古小学校」と統合されて「黒石小学校」となった「鎌井田小学校」跡の校舎に移転。 1954(昭和29)年、明治村の越知町編入により「越知町立明治中学校」に改称。 1965(昭和40)年、校歌制定。 1980(昭和55)年、現在の場所に新校舎を建設し移転。 1982(昭和57)年、体育館完成。 2007(平成19)年、休校。 2015(平成27)年、廃校。 現在は公民館として再利用されている。 地図の「航空写真(1974~1978)」で鎌井田小学校跡時代の明治中学校を見ることができる。

Ochi Town Meiji Junior High School

Ochi Town Meiji Junior High School is a junior high school located in Ochi Town, Takaoka-gun, Kochi Prefecture. It is in the northeastern part of present-day Ochi-cho, and is located in an area that was formerly Meiji Village in Yodogawa-gun until it was incorporated into Ochi-cho in 1954 (Showa 29). Opened in 1947 (Showa 22) in the form of being attached to “Kataoka Elementary School” located in the northern part of Meiji Village in the former Yodogawa-gun. In 1949 (Showa 24), it moved to the school building at the site of “Kamaida Elementary School” which became “Kuroishi Elementary School” by integrating with “Sasa Elementary School”. In 1954 (Showa 29), the name was changed to “Echicho Meiji Junior High School” by Meiji Village. School song was established in 1965. In 1980 (Showa 55), a new school building was constructed and moved to the current location. In 1982, the gymnasium was completed. Closed in 2007. Closed in 2015. Currently it is reused as a public hall. You can see Meiji Junior High School at the time of the Kamida Elementary School ruins in the “Aerial Photographs (1974-1978)” on the map.
