(Kyū Mitsuzu Gyokō)

Former Mitsu fishing port

Former Mitsu Fishing Port is a fishing port site in Murotomisaki, Kochi Prefecture. Located near National Route 55. Originally, it was said that it was a whaling base established by the Whaling Association around 1716. After the war, fisheries cooperatives and other buildings were built, forming a modern fishing port. As the ship became larger, the port itself became narrower, and in 1969, the current port was built and moved to a location near Tokushima Prefecture for about 2 km.
