上北鉱山 (Kamikita Kōzan)

上北鉱山(かみきたこうざん)は、青森県上北郡七戸町(旧天間林村)字南天間舘で操業していた日本鉱業(後にジャパンエナジーを経てJXホールディングス)経営の鉱山。 1940年(昭和15年)に操業開始。銅と硫化鉄を産出し、最盛期には1ヶ月に2万トンの鉱石を処理し、5000人もの人々が暮らし、かつては小中高校、病院、郵便局、映画館、食品スーパーが存在した。青森市の野内駅と上北鉱山を結ぶ索道(ロープウェー)が通っていた。 国内最大の銅産出量を誇り「神風鉱山」と呼ばれていた。 鉱石の枯渇により1973年(昭和48年)6月に閉山した。 現在も鉱毒の中和作業が続けられている。

Kamikita mine

The Kamikita mine (Kamikita Kozan) is a mine of management operated by the Japanese mining industry (later JAPAN ENERGY after JAPAN ENERGIES) that was operating in Minami-Tenko in the Shimokita-gun, Aomori Prefecture. Operation commenced in 1940 (Showa 15). Copper and iron sulfide were produced, and in the peak period, 20,000 tons of ore was processed per month, as many as 5000 people lived, once in elementary and junior high school, hospital, post office, cinema, food supermarket existed . A cableway (ropeway) connecting Aoimori 's Noonai station and the Kamikita mine passed. It was called "Kamikaze mine", boasting the country's largest copper output. It closed down in June 1973 (December 1973) due to depletion of the ore. Currently the neutralization work of the mineral poison is continuing.
