肥前炭鉱 (Hizen Tankō)

肥前炭鉱は長崎県佐世保市(旧・北松浦郡世知原町)にあった炭鉱。 明治41年12月、半田某氏により開坑。大正7年7月、静鉱業・牧村兵太郎氏の経営に。昭和24年7月、樋口鉱業が有田実氏から買収、第2坑再開。 昭和26年6月、組合長が組合費横領し逃走する事件が発生。昭和27年2月、逮捕。 昭和26年7月、樋口鉱業株式会社へ改組、日鉄より鉱区買収。 昭和30年3月に検炭係が口論から同僚を刺す事件が発生。 昭和34年3月、久恒鉱業(株)の経営に。昭和37年4月1日、高野鉱業(株)の経営に。 昭和41年11月、政府買上により鉱業権消滅。 選炭場跡のコンクリート遺構の他、ボタ山跡、共同浴場跡(転用)、鉱山住宅跡(現役居住)などが見られる。
