(Kyū Shibazaki Kyō)

Former Shibasaki Bridge (Nishi-Aizu Uenojiri's great abolished bridge)

The former Shibasaki Bridge (Kyu Tsabashibashi) is a waste bridge in Nishi-Aizu-cho, Yama-gun, Fukushima Prefecture. Beside the Akagawa, it is located in the southern part of Shibasaki Bridge (Uenojiri Dam) near Uenojiri Train Station on the Banetsukishi Line. Bridge length 144.4 m, width 4.35 m. Prior to this bridge construction, Shibasaki to Uenojiri were carried out in the wagons of the Aga River, but due to the fact that victims came in the middle of the ferry, cross-linking was a regional desire. By the completion of June 1938, the traffic situation changed completely, bringing great convenience to daily life as well as industry and economy. With the construction of the Tohoku Electric Power Uenojiri Dam and the Uenojiri Power Station to the downstream side of the Aga River in 1958 (1958), as the Shibasaki Bridge over the dam was to be passed by the Kamogo Shimanojiri Line of Fukushima Pref. Route 338, The use of this bridge was abolished. Since there was no budget for removal, the bridge itself was not dismantled and removed, only the roadbed was removed, and a part of the bridge girder of Uenojiri was dropped off so as not to be able to pass, so from the abolition of service It is currently in the state of abolished bridge.
