喰丸小学校(昭和村) (Kuimaru Shōgakkō)

喰丸小学校は、福島県大沼郡昭和村にある廃校。 明治6年下中津川下等小学校として開校。昭和12年二階建て校舎完成。昭和55年頃閉校。 体育館とプールは解体され、校舎も解体も検討されたが、廃校から12年後の平成4年、文化人類学者の故・山口昌男氏が「喰丸文化再学習センター」として開所、約14年間利用された。 その後再び解体が決定したが、平成21年より坪川拓史監督の映画「ハーメルン」のロケ使用が開始。撮影終了後に解体の予定で、東日本大震災による延期などを経て平成24年に撮影を終了した。 平成26年6月に解体計画が一旦保留とされる。 保存活用を求める2,384名分の署名が提出されたことなどから、再活用が検討され、2017年に修繕工事が行われた。 かつての風合いを残したまま、イベント会場、カフェ、交流拠点等として活用されている。

Oitaru Elementary School (Showa Village)

Since signatures of 2,384 people requesting preservation utilization were submitted, reuse was considered and repair work was done in 2017. It is used as an event venue, a cafe, an exchange base, etc., while leaving a former texture.
