(Ai Bu Denki Tetsudō)

Soubu Electric Railway

Sobu Electric Railway is a railway line that was conceived as a route connecting Tokyo (Ebisu Station) and the central part of Kanagawa Prefecture in the late Taisho era and its operating company. The construction of the roadbed was started in June 1927 between the National Railway Yokohama Line Fuchinobe Station, Kamizo Station, and Tanamura (current Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture). Is complete. Vehicles were ordered, but the construction was suspended due to the financial crisis that started in 1929 (Showa 4). All laying licenses expired by 1936 and went bankrupt in 1938. After that, most of the construction land was returned to the original owner because the purchase price was not paid, and the traces left until just after the war became farmland or disappeared due to land development. Although the culvert of Seibu Electric Railway was left in Yodogawa, it was demolished in recent years. Slight traces can be seen on the Myoko Bridge and the surrounding terrain over the place where Sobu Electric Railway crossed Hatogawa. In addition, there is a concrete ruin that seems to be a bridge in the vicinity of the Daiei parking lot near the JR Sagami Line Kamimizo station, where the Kamiomi station of the Sabu Electric Railway was scheduled to be installed. It is one of the few remains of Soubu Electric Railway.
