(Yamashita Rinkō Sen)

Yamashita Lingang Line (Yamashita Pier Line, Lincoln Freight Line, Public Lincoln Line)

Yamashita Shingo Line is a cargo ship that extended the line of Takashima Line, which had been laid to Yokohama Port Station of the New Port Pier, to Yamashita Wharf. Construction started in 1961 and was completed in 1965. Positionally it was a freight branch of the Tokaido Main Line, but various names such as "Yamashita Pier Line", "Lincoln Freight Line", "Public Lincoln Line" were attached for the name. However, as the importance of Yamashita Wharf declined due to the establishment of Honmoku wharf and Daikoku wharf after opening, as the frequency of freight train operation declined due to the shift from rail transportation to automobile transportation due to motorization, the Yamashita Lingo Line Was to be abolished in 1986. However, transportation continued until Kokurei 's malt loading facility, which was in Yamashita - dori station even after it was abolished, moved to Honmoku - wharf station. However, along with the opening of the Yokohama Expo, it was left as it was with the railroads of Sakuragi-cho side abolished pursuant to the reuse of the railway from the venue to Yamashita Park for passenger transportation, and it was installed in the vicinity of Sakuragicho Station in 1989 Daimyo was operated from Yamashita Park station to Nipponmaru station which was done. Regarding this train, there was also a voice from the railway fans of those days who wanted permanent operation, but the operation was stopped during the exhibition of the Yokohama Expo as the operating balance was not good. The two cars operated at this time were transferred to the Sanriku Railway in Iwate Prefecture after the expo, and they were operated until 2006 and 2004, respectively, and then sold to Myanmar It was done. Since then the railroad tracks and elevated legs of the Yamashita Lingang Portion have been abandoned for a while but as the voice for the resurrection of the landscape within the Yamashita Park has been strengthened from the local area, the construction to remove the elevated floor in the park premises is started, and by 2000 The removal was completed. However, in 1997, the former Takashima line from Sakuragicho to New Port was being developed as a train road "train road", so the elevation of the Yamashita Lingo Line mark, which had been left west of Yamashita Park, as well as the train road, It was opened to the public as "Yamashita Lincoln Promenade" in 2002 after maintenance. The railroad track of Yamashita Lingo line still remains on the road of Yamashita Wharf. Map is the new port bridge where railroad mark remains on bridge.
