(Fukami Hatsuden Sho)

Deep-water power plant

The deep-water power plant is the site of a power station located in Yatsushiro city, Kumamoto prefecture. A beautiful building with red brick shines in the Rumagawa river. It was completed in 1921 (Taisho 10) as a power station attached to Nishinippon Paper Mill. In 1988, it was closed as the paper company was shut down. Currently it is owned by Nippon Paper Industries. In 2008, the paint flickered off and the rough rough pain was why somehow was repaired and it became a brand new one. At the back of the mountain there are withered ponds, surge tanks, water conduits and other remains.
