(Anegawa Hatsuden Sho)

Anekawa Power Station

The Anekawa Power Station was located in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture. It is a 615 kW power plant constructed by Omi Hydro Electric Co., Ltd. in 1917. In 1921, Omi Hydro Electric Co., Ltd. was merged with Ujikawa Electric Co., Ltd. to become Ujigawa Electric Co., Ltd. In 1938, construction of the Ibuki Power Plant by Ujikawa Electric Co., Ltd. started. Operation started in February 1340. Since the Anekawa and Ibuki power plants use the same water source, after the Ibuki power plant started operating, spillage operation was performed by directly connecting the Ibuki power plant's water conduction tunnel to the upper tank of the Anekawa power plant. . Abolished in 1944. Some of the remains were dismantled by prefectural roads and forest roads, but many remain. The brick building of the Taisho era is still present.
