(Yanaka Mura)

Yanaka Village

Yanaka Village (and Nakamura) was a village located in Minchu-ga-gun, Tochigi Prefecture. It became a compulsory wasteown village in 1906, and it was transferred to Fujioka Town (current · Tochigi shi Fujioka cho) in the same district. I was in a place where there is the present Watarase Settlement. Damage to agricultural crops and fish came to be seen by the mineral poisoning from the Ashio copper mine in the upper Watarase River from around 1877, then it was forced to evacuate due to the water fountain which causes sedimentation to settle. Although it has remained unattended until now, there is a joint memorial monument of former Yanaka Village in Fujioka Town in Tochigi City, and a remains such as the ruins of Yanaka Village Plaza and Raiden shrine in Watarase Setoji, and it is possible to observe.
