(Kyū Miyazaki Kaidō Myōken Zaka)

Former Miyazaki Highway Akemizaka

Former Miyazaki Highway Akemizaka is an abandoned road that remains between Akemi Town and Otabuchi Town, Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture. Masonry is used to drive the road through the steep terrain. The history of the opening is engraved on the opening memorial "Miyazaki Kaido Monument" standing near the cut in the pass. According to this, construction started in January 1891 (Meiji 24) and completed in January 1892 (Meiji 25). The construction cost is 3,500 yen. It is considered that the road was abolished due to the opening of the current Ogawa River (current Aichi Prefectural Road 37) in 1907.
