(Shō Uma Tera)

Oma Temple (Oma Abandoned Temple)

Koma-ji Temple (Oma Koushi-ji) is a temple in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. Rinsei Soshinji Temple Shomaji (Kobaji, Kodara). Yamanogo is Entsuyama, and Honson is the 11th Kannon. It is located near the top of Mt. Komayama at an altitude of 855m. It is also reported that it was created by Kokaku, and originally it was Tendai sect, but it is said to have been transformed into a Rinzai sect during the Enbo year. It is said that 700 to 800 monks were trained when there were many, and it was admired as a ephemeral temple reminiscent of the disease-free nature of horses. Most of the villages who were taking care of the temple by the completion of the Yawakushi dam in 1971 (1947) were submerged. The monks also left and became an abandoned temple. The main hall entered the Heisei period and collapsed, and as of 2018, it has become like a pile of scrap wood. The back of the room is still there, but the wall is distorted. In addition, about 15 meters in height said to have been built from the end of Edo period to the beginning of the Meiji period, a two-story, four-story zelkova mountain gate remains. There are stone walls, stone stairs and large trees about 19 meters around the trunk, and pieces of tea pots and pots before Edo can be seen. It is located at the back of a forest road and can be reached by a four-wheel drive up to 400m in front, but in recent years the road is heavily devastated and access is difficult unless it is an off-road bike or on foot from 400m from here. It is considered to be a spiritual spot and a spot for a workout, and there are countless graffiti in the building. It is also the destination of hiking tours to learn history.
