今福線(広浜鉄道) (Imafuku Sen)

今福線は、JR可部線終着駅「三段峡」と、 島根県「浜田駅」を結ぶはずだった未成線。 広島と浜田を結ぶ広浜鉄道の島根側として、1933年に山陰線の下府駅から浜田市金城町今福までの15.8キロが着工された。しかし、戦争で資材が手に入りにくくなり、40年に工事が中止された。戦後、69年に浜田駅から12.3キロのルートで再着工されたが、国鉄の赤字のため80年に再び中止となった。 工事凍結後、旧線の一部のトンネルが道路として使用されていたが、老朽化や行き違いトラブルなどにより現在は閉鎖された。道路に転用されなかったトンネルも、立地が非常に危険で到達困難な場所に存在するか、フェンスにより立ち入りが禁止された状態となっている。 地図は土木学会選奨土木遺産認定の橋梁跡。 旧線の橋梁には(工事が戦時中だったため鉄の節約目的で)コンクリートアーチ橋がいくつか採用されており、2008年にそのアーチ橋群が土木学会選奨土木遺産に指定された。

Imabu line (Hiroshima Railroad)

Imabuki line is the unfinished line that was supposed to be connecting the JR Kabu line termination station "Sansho Gorge" and Shimane prefecture "Hamada station". As the Shimane side of the Hiroshima Railroad connecting Hiroshima and Hamada, in 1933, 15.8 kilometers from Hofu station on the Sankei line to Hamada City Kanagi Town Imabari was constructed. However, materials became difficult to obtain in the war, construction was canceled in 40 years. After the war, in 1969 it was rebuilt with a route of 12.3 km from Hamada station, but due to the deficit of the JNR, it was canceled again in 1980. After the construction freeze, a part of the old railway tunnel was used as a road, but now it was closed due to aging and misunderstanding problems. The tunnel which was not diverted to the road is also in a state where the location is very dangerous and it is difficult to reach, or the entry is prohibited by the fence. The map is a bridge trace of the Civil Engineering Association Selection Civil Engineering Heritage Certified. Several concrete arch bridges have been adopted in the bridge of the old line (for the purpose of saving iron due to construction being under wartime), and in 2008 the arch bridge group was designated as a civil engineering scholarship selection civil legacy.
