(Takara Kōzan)

Treasure mine

Bao Mine was a mine in Yamanashi Prefecture Tsuru City. It is also called Toryi mine. Pyrite, copper, lead and zinc were mined. Mine found in Meiji 5, mining began in 1898, and in the Meiji 31 year it was a full-scale mine to smelter. It was transferred to Mitsubishi Joint Stock Company (later Mitsubishi Metal Mining Co., Ltd.) in Meiji 36, developed on the wave of heavy industrialization against the backdrop of the Nisshin-Russo-Japanese War. At one point I calculated copper of 270 tons a year, but in 1968 the scouring was completed and mining was the only one, and the ore was taken out to Sasago Station by aerial cableway (ropeway). In the Showa era, mining of iron sesquioxide ore was the main and was designated as an important mine before the opening of the Pacific War. Although it continued operation even after the war, profitability deteriorated due to a decrease in the amount of mining. It became a closed mountain in 1964. All refineries and other buildings are dismantled and become outdoor educational facilities, but there are still wellheads in the mine traces. A collapsed oar and pulley remain, which is a remnant of the former cableway connecting the mine and Sasako station on the ridge connecting the head office building with Tsuruga Boya. It also marks the branch of the mountain path leading to the Sasaki station towards the longitudinal track and the name of the mountain map "Yagura".
