大泉鉱山 (Ōizumi Kōzan)

大泉鉱山は山形県鶴岡市(旧・東田川郡朝日村)にあった鉱山。主に銅、亜鉛、鉛が採掘された。「O泉鉱山」等として紹介されていることもある。 江戸時代後期から明治時代前半にかけて発見。1895(明治28)年、古河鉱業創業者である古河市兵衛が鉱山権を入手。1905(明治38)年、古河鉱業が継承。明治末期から大正時代にかけて、戦争などにより金属需要が激増、全盛期を迎える。鉱山地内には従業員が3000名近く暮らしていたという。 1918年(大正7年)1月20日、大雪崩が発生し死者154人という惨事となる。復旧の最中に第一次世界大戦が終結、金属価格が暴落。大鳥鉱山も規模縮小し、休山に至った。 1931(昭和6)年に満州事変が勃発すると、金属価格も急騰。大鳥鉱山も大日本興業によって再開発されることとなり、枡形に採鉱場等が、寿岡に選鉱場等が建設された。 1946(昭和21)年、選鉱場で火災が発生。昭和30年代には開山以来最大の繁栄時期を迎えるが、その後は海外からの鉱石輸入の増加などにより経営が悪化。1978(昭和53)年閉山。 現在も選鉱場跡が残り、映画『山形スクリーム』のロケで使用された。 また、大鳥小学校桝形分校の跡がある。

The Otori mine was also redeveloped by Dai Nippon Kogyo, mining places etc in Masuya, and mining stations etc in Shusuka built. In 1946 (Showa 21), a fire broke out in the selection area. In the Showa 30 's, the greatest prosperity since the opening of the mountains will be reached, but after that the management deteriorates due to an increase in ore imports from overseas. Closing mountain in 1978 (Showa 53). Even now the site of the selection site remains and was used in the location of the movie "Yamagata Scream". Also, there is a trace of Megumi branch of Ootori elementary school.
