旧阿武川発電所(川上水力発電所) (Kyū Abu Gawa Hatsuden Sho)

旧阿武川発電所は山口県萩市の発電所旧施設。県道293号線沿い、景勝地である長門峡近くに位置する。 大正12年(1923年)4月開業、当初は川上水力発電所と呼ばれていた。現在の阿武川ダム(1974年竣工)の建設に伴い廃止された。 取水口跡のコンクリート遺構が残り、航空写真からも確認できる。 平成10年に山口県の近代化遺産に指定されている。

Former Abu River Power Station (Kawakami Hydroelectric Power Station)

Former Abu River Power Station is a former facility of the power plant in Hagi city, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is located along the prefectural highway No. 293, near Nagato gorge which is a scenic spot. Inaugurated in April 1921 (April, 1923), it was originally called Kawakami Hydroelectric Power Station. It was abolished with the construction of the current Abu River dam (completed in 1974). The concrete remains of the water intake is left, and it can be confirmed also from the aerial photograph. It is designated as a modernization heritage of Yamaguchi prefecture in 1998.
