槙峰鉱山、日平鉱山 (Makimine Kōzan , Hibira Kōzan)

槙峰鉱山は、宮崎県延岡市・日之影町にまたがってあった銅鉱山。五ヶ瀬川の中流,綱ノ瀬川との合流点付近にあった。 1657年の発見と伝えられる。新庄屋吉右衛門によって開掘されたという。稼行と休山を繰り返したが、1864年延岡藩主内藤家の経営となる。 廃藩置県後は力士の友綱良輔の所有となり、1889(明治22)年、三菱会社が取得、本格的な採掘を始める。明治31年には五ケ瀬川に県下最初の水力発電所を設置。 最盛期には1500名の従業員を擁した。 昭和41年3月閉山。 日平鉱山は槙峰鉱山のすぐ近くにあった銅山。 双方とも大規模な遺構は見られないが、石垣跡やズリ跡、廃屋等は散見される。 地図は廃駅となった高千穂線槇峰駅。
