寒川集落(寒川小中学校) (Samukawa Shūraku)

寒川(さぶかわ)集落は、宮崎県西都市にある廃村。約400年の歴史を持つ。「S集落」等として紹介されていることもある。 明治時代には200人を越える人々が暮していたと言われるが、過疎化が進み、平成元年に最後まで残っていた6世帯13人が、国の過疎地域集落再編成整備事業の適用を受け、麓の上三財地区の市営住宅に移り住み、村は廃村となった。 寒川小中学校があった。1978(昭和53)年3月25日閉校。木造校舎が残る。
