(Suri Ko Hatsuden Sho)

Suzuko Power Station

The Suzuko Power Station (Surishiko Electric Power Station, Sukohatsudensho) is a power plant site located in Shimokitayama Village in Yoshino-gun, Nara Prefecture. It has also been introduced as "the power station S on the lake" "the seven color dam power station" "the power station trace floating on the dam". Construction started in 1929 (Showa 4) and completed in 1931 (Showa 6) by Ujikawa Electric Co., Ltd. (current: Kansai Electric Power). The power was generated by pulling a 2 km waterway from the location that corresponds to the inundation area of the current Ikehara Dam (Suriko Power Station waterway drainage way). In the Kitayama River at that time, weirs are made by cutting down the lumber and running the stream, and to make this possible even after the construction of the power plant, a water reservoir for generating water from the same waterway and a ditch road Seems to have a bifurcated structure. The Ikehara Dam was completed in 1964 and ended its role. In 1965 (Showa 40), it has been in a state of being partially submerged in the Kitayama River which became a dam lake by the completion of the Seven Colors Dam. Once they were able to approach closely with rental boats etc., it is said that they have been banned since the northern earthquake in Osaka Prefecture in June 2018.
