(Kawazu Shōgakkō)

Kawatsu Elementary School is a school in Totsukawa village, Yoshino gun, Nara prefecture. Opened in 1868. Since it was submerged due to the construction of a wind farm dam, it moved to its present location in 1959 (Showa 34), but the number of children decreased in the construction of the dam, it was integrated into Nimura Elementary School in 1964 and closed. Although it was diverted to "Kawazu youth hostel" after that, it was closed in 1982, now it is utilized as "Kawatsu Community Center". One corner of the schoolyard mark stands a Uenoda Kuhama monument and Tadashi Nozaki 's stone monument of the Tenkosi at the end of the Tokugawa period.
