沈堕発電所は、大分県豊後大野市清川町にある発電所跡。沈堕の滝の落差を利用した水力発電所だった。 1909（明治42）年、別大電車（大分～別府間）への電力供給を目的として豊後電気鉄道株式会社により建設された。 1916（大正5）年、豊後電気鉄道株式会社は九州水力電気株式会社に合併。 1923（大正12）年に下流に新しい発電所が出来たことから沈堕発電所は廃止となった。 石造りの見事な壁面が残る。
The settling power station is the site of a power station located in Kiyagawa Town, Obon Prefecture Bungoono City. It was a hydroelectric power plant that utilized the fall of the sinking waterfall. In 1909 (Meiji 42), it was built by Bungo Electrical Railroad Co., Ltd. for the purpose of supplying electricity to a separate train (between Oita and Beppu). In 1916 (Taisho 5), Bungo Electric Railroad Co., Ltd. merged with Kyushu Hydropower Co., Ltd. In 1923 (the Taisho 12) year, a new power station was established downstream, so the subduction power station was abolished. A stone's splendid wall remains.
