仙崎砲台 (Senzaki Hōdai)

仙崎砲台は大分県佐伯市の仙崎山にあった旧海軍施設。 佐伯海軍防備隊の前線基地として、昭和14年に着工築造された。 砲台には、砲塔が3基あり、岬側から第一、第二、第三砲台と呼称した。30cmカノン砲が装備されていたともいわれるが、実際は15cmカノン砲もしくは旧式の15cm臼砲と推測されている。 豊予海峡一帯の砲台は、豊予要塞司令部(陸軍)に属したが、仙崎砲台は唯一旧海軍が保有した特異な砲台となっている。 岬の突端には、防備衛所があり、水中聴音機で海峡に侵入する敵潜水艦を探知していた。

Senaki Battery

The Senaki Battery was an old naval facility located in Senakiyama in Saiki City, Oita Prefecture. It was constructed and constructed in 1964 as the front line base of the Saeki Navy Protective Corps. There were three turrets on the elevator, and they were called the first, second and third turret from the cape side. It is said that it was equipped with a 30 cm Cannon gun, but in fact it is estimated to be a 15 cm Cannon cannon or an old 15 cm gun. The battery in the Toyoshi Strait belonged to the Toyosu Fortress Command (Army), but the Senaki Battery is the only unique boat owned by the former Navy.
