(Ban Shū Higata Shintō Jikken Chi Kanren Shisetsu)

Yasushi tidal infiltration experiment pond related facilities

Panzhou Higata is a vast tidal flat that extends to the Tokyo Bay from the Odegawa River mouth in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture, and has a maximum of 1400 ha. One of the largest tidal flats in Tokyo Bay. There was an attempt to use the flowing water of the Odegawa River as cooling water for the iron-making business of Nippon Steel (formerly Yahata Ironworks), but due to the high salt concentration, we abandoned it. Facilities built at that time exist as penetration experiment ponds, and now it is a nesting place of several birds including cormorants. There are huge concrete remains that seems to be related facilities.
