(Uzurano Hikōjō)

Konno Air Station

Konno airfield (Qizura Hikoji) is an airfield that once existed in Kasai city of Hyogo prefecture. During the Second World War, it was built as a dedicated airfield for the Kawanishi aircraft Himeji factory, but the Himeji Navy Air Corps was stationed and it became a sighting base for training bases and special forces. At that time, the Kawanishi Himeji factory produced Shiden, Shoden Kai, 486 aircraft and 44 aircraft were assembled respectively. Closing with the end of the war. They became settlement sites for recruiters and others. However, the site of the runway still remains as it is today, and it is a training facility of the Ground Self Defense Force (Yono Training Center) (the frequency of use is low). In the past, air show such as helicopter etc was also done. However, the runway is divided by running the road to the position of 2 / 5th of the whole, and there are factories, transmission lines, private houses etc. in the surroundings, and takeoff and landing of the fixed wing aircraft is difficult in the original state. Air raid shelters, cover bunks, ammunition stock marks, and gunshot tracks of 25 mm consecutive machine guns, etc. can be seen as remembrance.
