(Kitazawasangyō Aboshi Tetsudō)

Kitazawa Industry Aboshiri Train

Kitazawa Industry Shimbun Railroad (Kitatozawa Osboro) is a branch office located in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, to Hamada port station in the city, Kitazawa Industry (a separate company from kitchen equipment manufacturer Kitazawa Sangyo) It is the name of the railroad line which was operated by. There is no official line name yet. A dedicated line built to transport goods to Toshiba's factory (Himeji factory / Aboshi factory) that was on the line was originated. During the wartime it was said that they were transporting commuters by freight cars. Following the war by Toshiba after the application of the excessive economic power concentration exclusion law, the dedicated line was transferred to Kitazawa Sangyo due to the fact that Aboshi factory became independent as Nishishiba Electric. After being operated by Kitazawa Industry, the leased line was converted to a regional railroad in 1966, but the reality was almost the same as before. Transportation of goods to the factory was switched to trucks, and the amount of transportation was drastically reduced in the latter half, but due to the flow of railway cargo rationalization of the national railway, it was eventually abolished. Among the diesel locomotives used on the line, DB 1 is located in Takasago City, and DB2 is preserved in Kitazawa Abashi Parking of Kitazawa Industry. Also in the Yoneda district of Taiko Town there is a trace of the rail that has not been removed yet. Until the 1960s, we owned and used a steam locomotive, two of which were preserved in "Nagashima Onsen SL Land" that was in Nagashima Spaland in Mie Prefecture, but it has already been dismantled.
