(Nakase Kōzan)

Nakase mine

Nakase mine (Nakase Kozan) was a mine in Hyogo prefecture adoptive father city (formerly Sekimi-machi Nakase). It is also called Nakase Kanayama (Nagasa Kinzan). It is the largest Jinshan in the Kinki district, and in particular, the output of antimony was the best in Japan. Discovered the first year of Tensho (1573). It started as Kanayama and became a peak in Kanji for years, but it declined due to an increase in flooding. In 1872, it became government-run, but it did not run, it will be paid to Mitsubishi Joint Stock Company in 1896. After that, I also ranked management as a manager, and in 1954 it was managed by Nakase Mining Co., Ltd. (present Nippon Mining Co., Ltd.) and fully developed. In 1943 (1943) it was designated as an antimony important mine, and during the Pacific War, the gold mine continued operation even though numerous domestic gold mines were forced to close due to the maintenance order. Due to the beginning of the Showa 40 year as the vein began to run out and the profitability deteriorated, it closed down in September 1969. Antimony smelting department continued operation with imported ore as raw material even after closing. Currently it imports antimony ingot from overseas and manufactures antimony products such as antimony trioxide. Although the facility is still in operation now, it is not ruins, but a part of old facilities such as battery loco (storage battery type locomotive) can be visited.
