相知炭鉱 (Ōchi Tankō)

相知炭鉱は佐賀県唐津市にあった炭鉱。 芳谷炭坑から独立した高取伊好(たかとりこれよし)が採掘。 試掘を繰り返し1895(明治28)年に良炭層を発見。1899(明治32)年、相知炭鉱株式会社を設立した。1896(明治29)年開鉱とも。 資金難により、1900(明治33)年、三菱財閥に売却。その後、三菱相知炭鉱は従業員5千人を抱える大鉱山へと成長した。 1933(昭和8)年に閉山。昭和30年~34年頃には新相知炭鉱として稼行したらしい。最終的に1962(昭和37)年に操業停止。 戦前には上相知炭鉱と呼ばれた箇所が相知炭鉱と同一か不詳。 また西側の佐里地区には西相知炭鉱があったらしい。現在は企業敷地内。 地図位置の三栄興産敷地内に三菱相知炭坑竪坑跡の記念碑が残されている。 付近の農地には、給水塔跡が残る。三菱の社宅や炭鉱住宅に飲料水を供給するための施設だったらしい。 また、中相知信号場から相知炭鉱駅まで唐津線相知炭坑支線で結ばれていた。1905(明治38)年10月22日に相知貨物支線分岐点-相知駅間貨物支線開業、相知駅新設。1978(昭和53)年10月1日廃止。 久保地区では森の中にコンクリート遺構が残っているらしいが不詳。

Also, it was connected by Karatsu Line Aichi Coal Mine Branch from Atsushi Hot Spring Signal Field to Aichi Coal Mine Station.
